    Briggs is one of the oldest shops in Ilkeston, starting out as a fishmongers and altering in the 1960s/70s to becoming a fish & chip shop. This continued until the late 1990s when the owners sold the business which then underwent a few changes to become the fish & chip shop it is now. I've used it both as a personal caller and as a delivery service. The standard of the food & cooking is generally good but with delivery the quality can vary slightly as can the temperature at which you get your food. The delivery times vary from 25 minutes to an hour - I live only a mile away (10 mins in a car). The range of items available could be improved but one thing I'd recommend is the onion rings which are very tasty when hot but equally tasty next morning when cold.
